CBD Large Bud Banner

Well that title is a mouth full of words to prep us for a mouth full of cannabis infused edibles. We lay out a 4 course meal plan full of cannabis infused goodness. Breakfast, lunch and dinner (plus dessert) so you can sit back and relax.

Five days out from 420 and because we love to cook. Time to share some of our simple meals to make for a smooth and mellow holiday.

But first, the history of 420 within the marijuana culture.

The Hazy History of 420

If you haven’t received a message saying “happy 420” I’m worried about you.

It’s become a psuedo holiday as recognized by stoners, hippies, burnouts and wannabees for what feels like forever.

Though, some of the history has become a bit of a hazy recollection of folklore.

The largest held belief coins “420” as a code among police officers for “marijuana smoking in progress.” After hearing the police radio in a 420, the legend was formed. Though, this appears to be one of the biggest of all the 420 fables.

Some note 4/20 is also Adolf Hitler’s birthday. Enough said here.

Some go as far as to cite Bob Dylan’s song “Rainy Day Women #12 & 35” because 12 multiplied by 35 equals 420. Too much math for my liking.

So, where then?

The truth appears to have been uncovered by the Huffington Post, “Indeed, a group of five San Rafael High School friends known as the Waldos – by virtue of their chosen hang-out spot, a wall outside the school – coined the term in 1971.”

The lore starts with the Waldos hearing rumors of a a cost guard who could no longer tend to the upcoming harvest of their marijuana garden.

They made a pact to meat at 4:20pm and head on the hunt to find the goods.

Although multiple attempts ended in empty pipes, they continued to coin the term. “I’ll meet you at 420” aka, let’s smoke.

And here we are, sitting in quarantine and getting ready for a holiday coined 41 years ago. History!
